Treatment with donor sperm

Egg of the recipient and donated sperm is used in this type of treatment. The resulting embryo is then inserted in the uterus of the recipient. Although no gametes of the partner are used, it is always necessary to have his written approval of the treatment.

Who is the treatment intended for?

Treatment with donated sperm is suitable for couples when the man:

• had a semen analysis and its value show serious changes so that it is necessary to use donor sperm,
• underwent sterilization with ligated vas deferens and it is not possible to collect any sperm surgically (e.g. using TESE),
• suffers from prostate cancer and testicular cancer and has no own frozen sperm,
• suffers from other conditions, according to assessment of IVF specialist.

It is sometimes necessary to provide required examinations for a successful treatment. At the same time we work on the selection of the right egg donor according to your indicated parameters.

stimulation

As soon as we have all examinations and the suitable donor ready, it is necessary to proceed with hormone stimulation of the woman. The aim of hormone stimulation is to grow a sufficient number of mature follicles.

eggs and fertilization

The day of egg collection is determined according to your treatment plan. The eggs are then fertilized with donated sperm. Fertilized eggs will be cultivated for 1-5 days.

embryo
transfer

Suitable embryos for transfer are selected during cultivation. Those are embryos that developed correctly and therefore have the best chances to settle down in the uterus and develop further. When there are multiple suitable embryos, it is possible to freeze them for possible future cycles. Transfer of the embryo in the uterus takes place without anesthesia and you can leave the clinic about 15 minutes later.

pregnancy
test

Pregnancy test can be taken at the earliest 14 days after embryo transfer and it should always be a blood test. Blood test is 100% reliable.

confirmation
of pregnancy

Pregnancy is confirmed with ultrasound examination about 2-3 weeks after the positive result of the pregnancy test.
